KAVAN NiMH 2000mAh/7.2V + Tamiya - KAV33.0370

The perfect 7.2 V 6-cell NiMH drive battery with 2000 mAh capacity, ideal for leisure and sport RC models such as 1:10 cars, other land vehicles, boats, and aircraft models. The classic “stick” pack with standard Tamiya® connector is ready to use – just charge and go!

KAVAN Sub-C (SC) size drive batteries offer high capacity, high discharge current, low internal resistance, and long service life. They support fast charging up to 1C, a maximum continuous discharge current of 20 A, and peaks up to 40 A.

BATTERY INSTALLATION

Secure the battery with Velcro or straps so it cannot come loose during operation. Mount it in an easily accessible area of the model, protected from fuel, exhaust gases, other operating fluids, or water.

BATTERY CHARGING

Fully charge the battery before first use. Do not charge with a current higher than 1C. The battery temperature during charging should not exceed 40°C (the pack should feel warm, not hot).

BATTERY FORMATION

For optimal performance of a new battery, we recommend a formation process of 3 to 5 cycles, including slow charging at 0.1–0.2C and discharging at a maximum of 1C. The charged capacity is less important than the discharged capacity – stop the formation when the discharged capacity stabilizes within about 5–10%. Repeat this process after long-term storage (several months).

BATTERY DISCHARGE

When using fast charging, we recommend fully discharging the battery before charging again (down to 1.0 V per cell, i.e. 6.0 V for a 6-cell pack). If the battery becomes hot during discharge, allow it to cool to ambient temperature before recharging. During operation, do not allow the battery temperature to exceed about 60°C (it should feel hot but still touchable). If necessary, reduce power consumption or use a battery with higher current capability.

BATTERY STORAGE

NiMH batteries should be stored fully charged. If not used for more than 3–4 weeks, charge them completely and store them in a dry place at room temperature. For longer storage, fully discharge (to 1.0 V per cell) and recharge every 3 months.
