The model impresses with its finely detailed design , razor-sharp printing including starting number 722 and Union Jack flag , as well as delicate rims – a real highlight for collectors of historic racing cars.

Historical background

The 1955 Mille Miglia is still considered one of the greatest motorsport events of all time. Mercedes-Benz entered four brand-new 300 SLRs, driven by top drivers such as Fangio , Kling , Herrmann , and Stirling Moss .

Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson started at 7:22 a.m. – hence the legendary starting number 722 – and drove an incredible average speed over 1600 km, a record that still stands today. Moss won the race, Fangio finished second – both in an SLR.
